Patrick Dupuis 1934-1962
Patrick Dupuis was born in New York on 8/26/1885. He worked as a telephone inspector in 1910 and 1911. According to the 1930 census, he was working as a police officer. Dupuis served in World War 1. In the 1960s, he started making the first calls to close the Ash St Jail, and later described it as “’antiquated and a menace’ to the physical welfare of its inmates.” He died on 8/23/1969 and is buried in Dartmouth, Massachusetts.
