Nathaniel Paine (Payne) 1686-1691
Nathaniel Paine was the only son of Nathaniel and Elizabeth Paine. He was one of the original proprietors of Bristol, RI, and an early resident of that town. He was likely a colonel in the British Army. In 1710, he was appointed Judge of the Court of Common Pleas, and for five years was also a judge of Probate Court. Paine served as a Councilor of Massachusetts for over twenty years. |
