NEADS (Dogs For Deaf and Disabled Americans), is a non-profit organization which was established in 1976 to help veterans and individuals living with disabilities. These assistance dogs help to bring a sense of security and independence to their disabled partners. Since 1976, Neads has trained over a thousand canine assistance dog teams.
The inmates at the Dartmouth Women's Center will be involved in the training of these dogs to prepare them for their future as "Canine Assistance Dogs."
