Bishop George W. Coleman visited the Dartmouth House of Correction on December 22, 2009 to conduct a Christmas Mass. Bishop Coleman was assisted by Father Karl Bissinger (Secretary to the Bishop), and Father John Morrison (Father Morrison conducts mass at the House of Correction every Friday).

38 inmates from the Dartmouth House of Correction attended the service. Three of the inmates took part in the mass by offering readings. Despite this service being a Catholic service, the Bishop's presence and message of hope was inspiring and well received by inmates of all denominations.
